Full Description
A section of barbed wire obstruction, c 1.7km long, can be seen running along the cliff-top between Corton and Hopton on 1941 aerial photographs (S1,S2). It is not visible on photographs from 1940, but it can still be seen on photographs from late 1944 (S3). Althought more or less continuous, the barbed wire obstruction is interrupted at TM53769928, TM53829912 & TM53879899 by small slit trenches. These could have been used in association with the barbed wire as part of the World War II defences in this area.
