Full Description
Medieval features were revealed after trial trenches were dug. A curvilinear gully could be interpreted as part of a small domestic or agricultural enclosure, the fill contained 14 sherds of pottery dated to mid-11th to 12th centuries. Ecological samples contained cereal grains, charcoal, snails and rootlets.
Two pits were revealed and contained sherds of pottery dated from 11th to 13th centuries and a linear ditch north-east to south-west alignment which contained pottery sherds dating between 12th to 13th century. Another ditch ran parallel but contained no archaeological finds were found in the fill (S1).
