Full Description
As part of a 5% sample of the site, 136m of trial trenches were laid out across the area. Despite its close proximity to cropmarks (indicating previous field systems) and to Second World War defensive features, no remains of archaeological interest were encountered. The site's slightly north-facing aspect and heavier clay soils probably made this area unattractive for past occupation and land-use (S1).
