Full Description
2002: Five possible features were identified during monitoring visits, of which three were PMed or modern, one was undated, and one may be associated with Med pottery. The large C18/C19 pit (0002) found close to the front of the site produced the largest group of finds, notably animal bone waste from butchery, or possibly an industrial process associated with the exploitation of cattle horns or hides. The first edition Ordnance Survey map of the area shows small workshops or sheds at the rear of the property which fronted the road, and the pit would have been located close to these, in the bank to the rear (S1).
