Full Description
January 1992: scatter of 11 sherds `IA' (actually LBA) pottery found during 20m gridded fieldwalking survey, spread over whole field surface. Details in parish file (S1). Trial trenching recommended.
September 1998: Trial trenched evaluation located series of LBA features (also undated features) & pottery (examined and dated by Matt Brudenell, March 2009) details in (S2),
For LBA hoard (see WTH 012) from within area of scatter (S2).
2000: open area excavation (in terrible conditions) prior to housing identified part of small sub-rectangular enclosure surrounding or adjoining (the report fails to locate the findspot) hoard findspot. The part excavated enclosure ditches contained small amount of plain flint-gritted pottery (LBA - M Brudenell), a small number of flint implements and a decorated (possibly MBA) large bronze pin. A series of pits and field boundary ditches to the south were partially excavated. Details in (S3).
