Full Description
Coins: 5 dating from late 3rd Century to the 350s (S1).
Mount: solid cast copper alloy bull's head mount with iron ?nail shaft, broken, projecting from roughly flattened back (S2).
The bull has three horns, central one damaged; incised lentoid outline eyes; incised lines betyween horns (representing hair?). Triple-horned bull a Celtic Deity common in Gaul (Green, 1976 BAR). This piece must have been mounted perhaps onto wooden furniture (S2)
