Description
Archaeological monitoring was carried out on footings for an extension to an existing property. The rear extension was on a strip foundation that revealed a deposit of clean sand and gravel at 0.2m deep. No finds or features were found in this area. The second area was more complex due to the sloping nature of the site. The footings on the lower terrace were at 1.35m deep. The excavation between the two terraces revealed over 2.5m of made ground and a wall of brick and flint pebbles that was thought to be of no great antiquity.
