Description
New driving range, golf course and associated structures visited.
1. New driving range - ground disturbance minimal as work mainly involved cultivating and re-seeding; a minor mechanical scrape along the southern edge was only c250mm deep and did not expose any previously undisturbed sub-soil, no finds.
2. New golf course - Only ground distubance a few small bunkers that were only 250/300mm deep so virtually no sub-soil exposed, no finds.
3. Driving range structure - On the site of a previous structure with a concrete slab that had already truncated the sub-soil, inspected as the old slab was being broken out, no finds or features revealed.
No finds of archaeological significance were found.
