Description
The site was visited during the topsoil strip for the pool and covering, and the excavation of a footing for a retaining wall and a soakaway. The site was waterlogged and visibility poor but no features were observed in any of the works. The landowner stated that the whole farmyard had been lifted and the ground level surounding the house truncated when it ceased to be a working farm about 10-15 years ago, and replaced with topsoil imported from the building of the Ixworth by-pass. Evidence on the groiund seemed to support this. The disturbed soil was looked over but no finds were recovered.
