Description
Evaluation trenching was undertaken for a proposed small scale holiday chalet development on an area of land that has been waste ground for many years. It consisted of five trenches measuring between 15m and 25m long by 1.8m wide. The trenches were excavated to a maximum depth of 0.7m. The evaluation revealed a small area of undisturbed ground on the northern and western fringes of the site with the remainder proving to have been quarried and subsequently filled-in with modern demolition debris. No finds or features of archaeological interest were identified.
