Description

PROJECT DETAILS An evaluation by trial trenching was carried out in relation to a planning application for a residential development on the site. One trench (23.4m2) was excavated, equating to 27% of the area affected most by the proposed building work. The site was on gently sloping ground at a maximum height of 42.8m AOD. The natural stratum was glaciofluvial sand and gravel. The trench revealed modern dumped deposits overlying the natural stratum.
