Description
An archaeological monitoring was carried out on footings for an extension to the rear of 46 Vine Cottage, Church Street, Sudbury. The trenches were excavated to a 1.2m from the ground surface. The monitoring identified a truncated subsoil surface lying beneath a deep build-up of Post-Medieval garden soils. The subsoil measured to a depth of over 1m and it is likely that the site has been truncated at some point, followed by a deep build-up of soils during the Post Medieval period (S1).
