Archaeological monitoring was carried out on groundworks associated with the refurbishment of military housing. A total of 9 visits were made to the site. The soil profiles indicated an undulating subsoil of wind blown sand with truncated hollows containing a grey buried soil in places and dried peat. This landscape is typical of the fen edge (S1).
